GRIFFITHLAW SEEKING CASE MANAGER/PARALEGAL, MURFREESBORO

GriffithLaw is seeking a Case Manager/Paralegal to join our growing team. Experience required. Paralegal: 1-2 years of experience in personal injury litigation. Job duties will include:

  • Set up case in case management system including but not limited to setting up claims, sending out letter’s of representation, requesting first round of medical bills and records, investigating incident, and instructing client on the next steps of the case. Request any other documents (police report, dash cam/body cam, surveillance video) necessary.
  • Lead point of contact for client. Communicate with client at least every 30 days regarding treatment status, case status, and obtaining necessary documents.
  • Request medical bills/records. Review medical bills/records for completion and issues. Keep bills/records organized in electronic folder.
  • Scan, download and save all correspondence, photos, records, bills, documents, and pleadings in specific folders.
  • Work with insurance company adjusters on case status, and negotiations. Draft demand letters and track all offers and demands. Update client on status of negotiations and potential case value/net settlement.
  • Set up subrogation claims. Verify final subrogation balances and request reductions. Verify medical balances and negotiate liens. Request operating checks and mail out payment and correspondence to providers. Request settlement checks and complete all settlement procedure items.
  • Answer phones and speak with potential new clients, clients, adjusters, medical providers, and attorneys. Answer questions as you are able, and relay messages to attorney for additional information. If necessary, complete intakes and schedule potential new client meetings.
  • Draft demand letter, complaints, discovery to defendants and discovery responses from plaintiffs. Draft mediation statements, motions, orders, petitions and other legal documents. Review all legal documents as necessary and present to attorney for review and possible next steps.
  • Coordinate service of process via process server, certified mail, or commissioner of insurance. Track service date and update case management system.
  • File lawsuits, motions, orders, and other legal documents via electronic portals or physical court locations.
  • Research specific issues and prepare presentations for training as necessary.
  • Coordinate with attorneys, doctors, and clients to schedule depositions, meetings, mediations, and trials. Schedule pre-deposition meetings with clients and set up Zoom link.

Details:

  • Salary for this full-time position is adequate with experience and ranges from $70,000.00 to $80,000.00.
  • Benefits offered include medical insurance, 401k retirement plan, quarterly in-office reward events, and vacation.

  • Schedule: 8 hour shirt, Monday to Friday

Our team is looking for an experienced Bookkeeper to manage our financial records and contribute to the efficiency of our operations. If you have experience in bookkeeping within the legal industry, specifically with personal injury law firms, we want to hear from you!

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage daily financial transactions, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and bank reconciliations.
  • Process and track client settlements, distributions, and retainers, ensuring compliance with trust accounting regulations.
  • Maintain accurate records of firm expenses, billing, and timekeeping.
  • Assist with preparing financial statements, reports, and budgets.
  • Process payroll for firm employees.
  • Reconcile ledgers and ensure accurate reporting of client and firm financials.
  • Coordinate with external accountants for tax filing and audits.
  • Manage and track trust account balances, ensuring proper compliance with state and federal regulations.
  • Communicate with clients regarding billing questions or concerns.
  • Perform other administrative and financial duties as needed.

Qualifications:

  • 3+ years of bookkeeping experience, preferably with a personal injury law firm or legal industry background.
  • Strong knowledge of QuickBooks or similar accounting software.
  • Familiarity with trust accounting principles and procedures, particularly in relation to personal injury settlements.
  • Excellent attention to detail, accuracy, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to handle sensitive financial data with discretion and confidentiality.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.

Responsibilities

  • Informing and educating clients of the phases of a case using exceptional customer service skills;

  • Evaluating potential cases and meeting with injuries parties to discuss their claims;
  • Managing and guiding your case manager(s) regarding medical records, insurance correspondence, and client contact;
  • Communicating with insurance companies regarding liability questions and settlement;
  • Reviewing and analyzing medical records to make decisions on case direction and value;
